Advisory Board Appointment to ACCORD Program
Jan Rowinski is nominated to the Advisory Board of the ACCORD (Action concertée de coopération régionale de développement) Program. The purpose of the program, a strategic approach to regional economic development introduced in 2002 by the Québec Government, is to build a competitive regional production system in each region in Québec through the identification and development of niches of excellence that might become regional hallmarks. The ACCORD program is a Québec-wide project involving cooperation between three main partners: Québec's regions, the Québec government and the Société générale de financement (SGF). Other partners can be brought on board depending on the specificities of a given region. The Program encourages networking among business stakeholders and entrepreneurs in a region who share a similar vision of their sector of activities, understand each other’s potential strengths and weaknesses and who are able to define a long-term strategy to be applied in their sector.
